Our goal throughout the admissions process is to determine if LMS is a good match for your child.
We recommend that applicants spend a day at Luther. This enables prospective students to get a feel for school on an ordinary day, and to get acquainted with the students who might become their classmates. The admissions process is designed to help us answer some important questions for each prospective student.

  • Will the program at Luther meet this student's educational needs?
  • Does there appear to be the potential for this student to achieve success at Luther?
  • Is it likely that this student and their family will enjoy being part of the Luther community?

For students applying for grades 1-8, testing is arranged through the admissions office after two parts of the admissions file have been received:
  • a completed application
  • transcripts from the current school

To schedule a visit, request an information packet or get more info about Open Houses and tours contact our Admissions Director Melinda Boisseau, at 321-6420

Apply for 1st-8th

Application: Please complete the application and return it to the Admissions Office along with the $50.00 application fee.

Request for Release of Academic Records: Complete the request form found in the admissions packet and give it to the appropriate official at the applicant's current school.

Interview: An interview with both the prospective student and parent is required. At that time, please provide a copy of your child's most current school records and other pertinent information.

Testing: Entrance tests are required. The tests are scheduled at a time that is convenient for the parent, student, and the teacher who is administering the test.

The Admissions Committee reviews the student's test results and previous school records to determine proper placement for the student. Written notification of acceptance will be mailed along with the enrollment contract. The signed contract and a $300.00 registration fee (non-refundable and part of the total tuition cost) must be returned within two weeks to hold a place for your child.

Apply for Kindergarten

Application: Please complete the application and return it to the Admissions Office along with the $50.00 application fee.

Children entering kindergarten must be five years old by October 1 of the year they wish to enter. We use the DIAL kindergarten readiness screening to assess your child's readiness to participate successfully in our kindergarten program. The DIAL is required for all applicants.

Information about the DIAL:   D.I.A.L. stands for Developmental Indicators for the Assessment of Learning. The DIAL is not an intelligence test. It measures readiness for kindergarten in four areas: Motor, Conceptual, Language, and Social.

We will contact you about the date and time for your child to take the DIAL after your admissions application has been received. The DIAL is given at Luther in the multi-purpose room. An area is set up for parents so that they can observe the testing process.

The cost for the DIAL assessment is $30. For new students, this amount is in addition to the $50 admissions application fee.

For students applying for the 2012-13 school year, the DIAL will be given on:

  • Saturday, February 11, 2012
  • Saturday, April 21, 2012

Apply for Pre-Kindergarten

Age: Children entering our Pre-kindergarten Program must be 3 years old on or before October 1 of the year they wish to begin enrollment. Students must be completely toilet trained to enroll in the Pre-kindergarten Program.

To Apply: Please complete an application and return it to the Admissions Office with the $50.00 application fee. Also, a parent and child visit with the teacher during class time is required.

Pre-K Visitation Days are scheduled several times a year. When your application is received, you will be contacted with the date and time for an upcoming visitation day. If you are unable to attend at that time, you can schedule a visit by contacting the Admissions Office.

It has been our experience that classes fill quickly. After classes are filled, applicants are placed on a waiting list. Should an opening occur, you will be contacted as soon as possible.

Acceptance: Written notification of acceptance will be mailed to you along with the enrollment contract. The signed contract and a registration fee of $100.00 (non-refundable) will secure a place for your child.
