Athletics

A student can become part of any team in which they are interested. Parents are sometimes surprised that their children do not have to try out in order to participate in sports at Luther.

Soccer is offered in both the fall and spring terms, with 5th through 8th graders eligible for the varsity team, and 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders eligible for junior varsity. Luther soccer teams compete against other private schools in the Richmond area.

Basketball (boys and girls) and cheerleading are offered in the winter for students in the 4th through 8th grades. The basketball teams compete against area private schools as well as other Lutheran schools.

Luther's varsity basketball teams participate in the Lutheran Invitational Tournament (L.I.T.), which is hosted each year by one of the participating Lutheran schools.
