Technology
Luther Memorial is committed to the use of technology as an important aspect of education. Luther's computer lab contains some of the latest hardware and software technologies.
Luther uses PC desktops that operate on current
Microsoft Windows software and support Microsoft Office applications.
The IT resources are also supported by a high speed, color laserjet printer, a scanner, and a digital camera.
Students at Luther have supervised access to filtered internet content.
Grades K-8 visit the computer lab once a week for 50 minutes to learn about word processing, spreadsheets, databases, multimedia, desktop publishing, and internet search skills. Computer skills are developed through thematic units and hands on computing experience.
Luther utilizes a curriculum developed by
School Technology Programs that incorporates classroom content into computer lessons. In addition to application software, every student learns about the Windows operating system as well as fundamental hardware basics.
