Preschool
Our developmental preschool curriculum encourages curiosity and fosters social growth through informal learning experiences in theme-based units such as nature, community helpers, make believe, and caring for our world.
The curriculum offers activities that encourage learning while recognizing the young child's need to move, explore, and imagine.
Each pre-kindergarten day includes group experiences such as games, music, art, discovery centers, circle time, and play.
We strive to provide an environment where each child has the opportunity to develop an awareness of himself or herself as a child of God with unique gifts and talents.
Pre-K Day
Pre-kindergarten classes for three, four, and younger five-year olds are held Monday through Friday from 8:10 to 12:00 noon.
Students are welcome in the classroom beginning at 8:00, and ordinarily, they arrive no later than 8:30.
Children may enroll in the Pre-kindergarten program for either 3 days per week or 5 days per week. Pre-kindergarteners can also enroll in our Extended Day Program which provides care and activities from 7- 8:00 a.m. & from 12:00 - 5:45 p.m.
The curriculum builds readiness skills while encouraging social, intellectual, and physical development. Discovery centers are used in each classroom. The children have “adventure time” where they take advantage of classes in music, art, creative movement, science, dramatic play, and Bible stories.
Once a week, pre-kindergarteners visit the library where our librarian dresses up as "Granny Pockets" to share a story and help them choose a book.
Throughout the year, Field Trips take our pre-kindergarteners to interesting places around the Richmond area. Parents are always welcome to come along as chaperones.
